MAKE UP FOR EVER is a professional cosmetics brand founded in 1984 by artist Dany Sanz.

Originally a painter and sculptor working in Parisian cabarets and theaters in the 1980s, Sanz sought to develop an all-encompassing make up line for fashion and show-business professionals that contained every kind of product, texture and color needed to achieve any effect a make up artist could desire.  Shortly after developing the line, Sanz opened the first MAKE UP FOR EVER boutique at 5 rue la Boétie in Paris, where it still remains today.

MAKE UP FOR EVER launched in the United States in 1995 with the opening of a Flagship Studio in New York City.  In 1999, the company was acquired by LVMH, the world’s leading luxury group.

The brand’s products are currently sold at Sephora stores and on in the United States, Canada and Europe, as well as major department stores in Asia and the Middle East.

The brand has a strong focus on education and artistry. In 2002, Sanz opened the MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY in Paris, a professional training center where she shares her passion for make up.

MAKE UP FOR EVER extends its Backstage Card program to make up artists, students, and select industry professionals (including models, actors, hairstylists, dancers, and more).  All professionals must submit an application and credentials for approval.

The range currently counts over 1,400 products, including foundations, eye shadows, lipsticks, gloss, body make up, eyeliner pencils, loose powders, cleansers, brushes, faux eyelashes, glitter and more.

In 2008, as television stations began transitioning from analog to digital, Sanz developed the brand’s HD Complexion range in response to the demands of professional make up artists who needed products that could counter the unforgiving high definition camera lens.
